Welcome to the Romantic Novelists' Association web site. We hope you enjoy clicking through the various pages of information about us and about the romantic fiction we love to read and write. Perhaps you, like our members, are a writer as well as a reader.
Romantic fiction is the best selling, most widely read type of fiction, universally enjoyed because everyone knows something about love.
If you write or work with books and want to join us, we welcome published and unpublished writers, agents and editors, and other people involved in publishing or connected to books.
The RNA site has been completely updated and refreshed. New features include event listings, meeting reports, website searching, and centralised author details.
If you are a published member of the RNA and would like your website added, or if anything you do/have done for the RNA has not been put on your profile (if you have one), please contact Jan Jones.
If you have any problems viewing this site, please send as full a report as possible to the webmaster.

All of Melissa Nathan's novels are both heart-warmingly romantic and very, very funny. The Nanny and The Waitress were also in the Top Ten bestseller lists. So it's highly appropriate that, following her death from cancer at the age of just 37 in April 2006, a new literary award is being established in her memory.
The Melissa Nathan Award For Comedy Romance has been set up by Melissa's husband, Andrew Saffron - honouring the criteria that Melissa drew up herself very shortly before she died. She wanted to encourage and reward writers who can combine in a novel the magical, life-enhancing elements of humour and love.
The Award Committee has put together a stellar line-up of judges for the very first award: comedian Jo Brand, author Joanna Trollope, actress Jessica Stevenson, author Sophie Kinsella and Gaynor Allen, Head Book Buyer for Tesco.
A list of contenders for the award has been compiled with the extraordinary help of the readers from the Romantic Novelists Association. A shortlist will be announced on 15th May 2007 and the winner will be announced at an Awards Ceremony in London on 13th June - Melissa's birthday. The winner will receive a trophy and a cheque for £5000.
Nominations for the 2008 Melissa Nathan Award for Comedy Romance should be submitted by 1st December 2007 to . Books published between January and December 2007 will be eligible.
